While Sims 4’s new Lovestruck expansion pack adds color to Sims’ love lives, rumors have emerged that the game’s developers EA and Maxis are working on a death-themed DLC for Sims 4.
Death-themed DLC rumors circulating for Sims 4
Popular Sims YouTuber Lilsimsie questioned why a live stream promoting the Lovestruck expansion featured a poster of an elderly Sim jogging. EA employee SimsGuruNinja’s response was quite interesting: “But don’t worry. Old people will die better soon.” This response caused a stir among viewers and fueled speculation that a new death-themed DLC is on the way.
Sims creators, leaks, and even the game’s developers continue to hint that a death-themed expansion pack is in the works. For example, one creator, after correctly guessing the existence of the Lovestruck expansion, mysteriously tweeted, “I’m willing to die for another EP this year.”
Data mining of Sims 4’s files provides further evidence that a new expansion is on the way. According to the game files, two more DLCs will be released after the Lovestruck expansion, followed by the new expansion. This order is as follows:
– Expansion Pack 16 (Sims 4 Lovestruck expansion)
– The Sims 4 DLC 85
– Expansion Pack 17 (possible “Drop Dead” expansion)
– The Sims 4 DLC 86
– The Sims 4 DLC 87
– The Sims 4 DLC 88
– The Sims 4 DLC 89
– Expansion Pack 18 (unknown expansion pack)
While EA and Maxis have yet to make an official announcement, it seems logical that the “Drop Dead” expansion pack will be released around Halloween. Also, with EA and Maxis investing heavily in Sims’ love lives lately, it’s only fair that ghost Sims get some attention.
Throughout the Sims series, death has always been an important part of the game. Sims can die in many funny ways, such as mischievous Murphy beds, meteors, or mysteriously removed pool stairs. Sims with a particularly rare flower can beg the Angel of Death for the life of their friend. However, players can always simply leave the deceased family member to die and then start a romance with the Grim Reaper.
The Sims 4’s new death-themed DLC looks like it will give players the opportunity to make Sims’ death and love lives even more fun. What do you think? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
